SOME BACKGROUND INFO!
I'm extremely excited about all of the projects I'm currently working on. Some are more time consuming than others, such as the Elvis Tribute which really keeps me hopping. I really enjoy the concept of portraying a variety of "characters" on stage and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to have such variety in my career. So,I thought I'd give you a little background which might explain how I arrived at this point.
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio loving the music of the Las Vegas Entertainers such as Elvis, Dean Martin, Tom Jones and Wayne Newton. During these early years, I listened faithfully to the music of Elvis in particular. The love of his music and style ultimately led me into the entertainment field.
After graduating from college I began a career as a teacher but ultimately the desire to entertain manifested itself. I took my first serious singing job performing an Elvis Tribute and traveling the United States with Myron & The Marvells.
At that point there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to make music my full time career. I left teaching behind and focused my energy into putting together an oldies show, known as the Del Satins. Through the years, the personnel that comprise this group has changed, and today the group is made up of a great group of talented guys. Now, we go by the name, Blast From The Past!
Blast From The Past, currently accepts only a limited number of engagements, such as car shows and festivals, so this has given me the opportunity to pursue other interests. There never seems to be a limit to the popularity of Elvis, and to this day I still continue to enjoy perfoming my Tribute to appreciative audiences.
A change in direction in 2002 led me my down a slightly different path. Time and time again, I would hear from fans that I reminded them of Wayne Newton, both visually and in my performance style. I've always been a huge fan of Mr. Newton and as the saying goes - imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Fans have been extremely receptive to my portrayal of the Midnight Idol and it is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.
In 2004, I teamed up with a great group of people to form the "Branson to Vegas Show." For me, this show is culmination of all of my favorite musical interests. I have the opportunity to perform the high energy music of the Las Vegas icons and incorporate some gospel, country, and patriotic tunes as well.
Occasionally, I get a call from someone who "wants it all," and I'm always happy to put it all together and perform a variety show - Oldies, Country & Las Vegas Legends.
It may sound like I have a lot on my plate, but I really like it that way. I have the greatest job in the world. I feel as if all the experiences I have had along the way have led me to this place in my career. I now have the opportunity to express my muscial style to some of the greatest fans anyone could wish for.
Once again, thanks for stopping by - please visit often to see what's new.
Best Wishes, Brian
